DEPRESSION

Depression can make life feel flat, heavy, or painfully disconnected — from yourself, from other people, and from the parts of life that once felt meaningful.

RELATIONSHIP
PROBLEMS

Relationship struggles can leave you feeling stuck in painful patterns, misunderstood, or alone. Therapy can help you better understand yourself in relationships, communicate more openly, and build connections that feel more honest, secure, and fulfilling.

ANXIETY

Anxiety can keep your mind in a state of persistent worry, leaving it difficult to rest, focus, or feel fully present in your life. Therapy can help you understand the deeper patterns beneath your anxiety and develop a steadier, more grounded relationship with yourself and the world around you.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Some level of stress is an unavoidable part of modern life. But when stressors become too intense, they can leave you feeling overwhelmed, emotionally depleted, and disconnected from what matters most. Therapy can help you slow down, understand what's driving the pressure, and build a more sustainable way of living — and of relating to yourself.

GRIEF & LOSS

Grief can touch every part of life, whether you are mourning a person, a relationship, a role, or a version of yourself. Therapy offers a space to grieve at your own pace, without losing sight of what has been meaningful, loved, and lasting.

Substance Use

Substance use often begins as a way to cope with pain, stress, loneliness, or disconnection, but can gradually create new forms of suffering and isolation. Therapy can help you understand the emotional roots of substance use, strengthen your capacity to cope, and build a life that feels more connected.

LIFE TRANSITION

Major life changes — whether chosen or unexpected — can bring uncertainty and loss, and shake your sense of identity, direction, and belonging. Therapy offers a grounding space to find your footing again — and to discover who you are becoming on the other side.

TRAUMA & PTSD

Trauma can leave you caught between hypervigilance and numbness — struggling to feel safe, present, or fully yourself — long after the original experience has passed. Therapy can help you work through painful experiences at a pace that feels safe, gradually rebuilding your sense of security, resilience, and agency.

Treating Trauma

Healing from trauma requires understanding how past experiences shape your present life and relationships. Our trauma-informed approach helps you identify patterns, build resilience, and reconnect with your inner strengths.

We also recognize that trauma often shows up in the body. Our clinicians support clients in developing a stronger sense of safety, emotional regulation, and connection with themselves and others.

How We Help

LGBTQ+ Support

LGBTQ+ individuals bring rich, complex lives to therapy — along with challenges that the wider world makes harder to carry. Our therapists have deep experience working with the LGBTQ+ community and offer genuinely affirming care, grounded in an understanding of minority stress, identity development, and the particular pressures that can come with living authentically. Our therapists provide affirming, inclusive care that meets you where you are, whether you're working through anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or exploring who you are and how you want to live.

We believe that gender-affirming care is essential health care. For our trans and non-binary clients pursuing gender-affirming interventions, we actively support equitable access by providing expert assessments and letters of support.

Depth-Oriented Psychotherapy

At Salix Psychotherapy Collective, we believe healing happens within supportive relationships and communities. Rooted in the principles of depth-oriented psychotherapy, our approach goes beyond surface-level symptom relief — exploring the deeper layers of the unconscious, personal history, and inner life to foster lasting, meaningful change. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive space where people from all backgrounds feel respected and valued. By embracing an intersectional lens, we work to understand each client's unique experiences, cultural context, and sense of self, while also honoring their strength and resilience.

FAQ’s

Answers to Help You Get Started

Quickly understand your needs and if therapy is right for you.

Do you take my insurance?
Therapists at Salix Psychotherapy Collective are In Network with Blue Cross, Blue Shield PPO, Blue Choice PPOs, Aetna, Medicaid, and United Healthcare. Some of our providers are In Network with Medicare
What if I have a different insurance?
If your insurance is not BCBS PPO or BCBS Choice PPO, you will be using your Out of Network benefits. In that case you will pay the full session cost upfront and your therapist will provide you an invoice to submit to your insurer to get reimbursed, based on your Out of Network benefits. It is best to confirm your Out of Network benefits with your insurance provider.
Does my insurance cover treatment? What will therapy cost me?
Insurance typically covers psychotherapy, but coverage, costs, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance vary by plan, so your therapist can help verify benefits (especially with BCBS PPO or BCBS Choice PPO) and it’s best to contact your insurance provider directly to understand your specific mental health coverage.
How long are sessions?
Psychotherapy sessions are typically 55 minutes long. Under some circumstances a shorter 45 or 30 minute session may be determined to be preferable. You and your therapist will discuss this.
What can I expect on my first visit?
Prior to your first visit your therapist will get you connected to their patient portal so that you can complete your intake paperwork online. At the first visit your therapist will start to get to know you and understand your problems. They will want to hear about some of your reasons for seeking therapy now, and talk about any mental health symptoms you have been having. Your therapist may also ask you questions about your goals for therapy, your family, relationships, and other important aspects of your life.
