Do you take my insurance?
What if I have a different insurance?

If your insurance is not BCBS PPO or BCBS Choice PPO, you will be using your Out of Network benefits. In that case you will pay the full session cost upfront and your therapist will provide you an invoice to submit to your insurer to get reimbursed, based on your Out of Network benefits. It is best to confirm your Out of Network benefits with your insurance provider.
Does my insurance cover treatment? What will therapy cost me?
Insurance typically will cover psychotherapy. However, each insurance plan has different rates of payment and different costs that are assigned to the patient.

If you have BCBS PPO or BCBS Choice PPO, your therapist will check your benefits and let you know what coverage information they find.

If you have any concerns about coverage or the cost of therapy, It is always best to contact your insurance to find out what your coverage is for mental health care. Some important questions to ask include: Do I have a deductible for mental health care and will it apply to outpatient psychotherapy in an office setting? Do I have a copayment for psychotherapy visits? Do I have co-insurance for psychotherapy visits?
How long are sessions?
What can I expect on my first visit?

Prior to your first visit your therapist will get you connected to their patient portal so that you can complete your intake paperwork online.

At the first visit your therapist will start to get to know you and understand your problems. They will want to hear about some of your reasons for seeking therapy now, and talk about any mental health symptoms you have been having. Your therapist may also ask you questions about your goals for therapy, your family, relationships, and other important aspects of your life.
Do you keep my visit private?
Psychotherapy appointments and your records are all kept confidential. This means that your therapist needs to get your permission to discuss your therapy with anyone other than you. Therapists can seek professional consultation in order to do their job better, and in that case, they only disclose information to another therapist who is also bound by the rules of confidentiality.

If you want us to bill your insurance, we have to disclose some confidential information to the insurance company including your identifying information, your diagnosis, when we met and the billing code for the appointment.

Other than billing your insurance and consultation, we can’t reveal the content of your sessions, or even the fact that you are attending therapy, to anyone without your permission. If your therapist should want to consult with your medical doctor or someone else who you see for treatment, your therapist will get your consent in writing.
How often will I meet with my therapist?

Length of treatment varies depending on many factors, including patients’ goals, the severity of symptoms, and patients’ responses to interventions. Some issues may improve rather quickly, whereas other issues may require considerable treatment to address. You and your therapist will work together to assess your goals and progress, and determine a length of treatment that works for you.
Do you offer in-person therapy and virtual?

Therapists at Salix Psychotherapy Collective see patients both in-person and in virtual telehealth sessions. You and your therapist will decide which works best for your treatment goals. Telehealth sessions may happen via video through your therapist’s patient portal or over the phone.
How long will I be in therapy?
