Overcoming Trauma

Trauma refers to the emotional and psychological distress resulting from deeply disturbing experiences that overwhelm an individual’s ability to cope. These experiences can be single incidents such as accidents or assaults or prolonged and complex situations like abuse or neglect. Trauma often leaves a lasting impact on an individual’s mental and emotional functioning, manifesting in symptoms such as flashbacks, anxiety, depression, and difficulty forming healthy relationships. Psychotherapy doesn’t erase the trauma, but it can help individuals to understand their experience and their symptoms, regain control over their lives, restore a sense of safety, and ultimately find a path towards renewed well-being. If you’re seeking assistance in overcoming trauma, Salix Psychotherapy Collective is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment to heal and move forward in your life.
