Meet Renanah

I am a psychodynamic and relational psychotherapist who works with adults struggling with a wide range of problems. I am an active and inquisitive psychotherapist, who collaborates with patients to understand and change longstanding relationship patterns and sources of dissatisfaction in order to achieve growth toward a more fulfilling life.  Sometimes emotions and their meaning can be elusive or overwhelming. Somatic or Body-focused interventions can help. To expand my skills with somatic interventions, I have received training in clinical hypnosis and other body-focused interventions. When patients are interested, I integrate these methods of interverion into the psychotherapy process either to deepen awareness of the root causes of troubling issues or to increase regulation and wellness.  In addition to my private practice, I am an Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where I mentor graduate students in clinical psychology. I am also on staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. While completeing my graduate education, I trained in the treatment of severe and persistent mental illnesses, taught introductory courses in Psychology, and worked with veterans at the Jesse Brown VA. Prior to starting my private practice, I supervised graduate students in psychological testing and psychotherapy, while also leading groups and working with individuals with disabling mental illnesses at a community mental health center. I am a Northwestern graduate with a BA in Psychology and a PhD in Clinical Psychology.  I began my career in mental health and mentorship as a peer health educator while an undergraduate.
