Psychotherapy Associate

Elise Hernandez

Psychotherapy Associate at Salix Psychotherapy Collective

I am a collaborative and relational therapist who works with clients to create a protected, consistent, and adventurous space. Together, we pause, gently examine the experiences and patterns shaping your life, and practice new ways of being that may bring greater ease, connection, and possibility.

My approach is grounded in interbeing, liberation, integrity, and social justice. I remain attentive and curious about how racial, social, cultural, and class-based power dynamics influence our experiences, our relationships, and the therapeutic process itself. Through thoughtful dialogue, humor, creative exercises, and motivational interviewing, I help clients recognize and embrace their unique strengths, patterns, and possibilities.

I especially value working with people whose lives and identities exist at the margins and intersections. This includes caregivers, self-defined elders, people facing death and their loved ones, people navigating grief, LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, people of diasporic experience, friends, and intergenerational pairs.

I draw from different theories and therapeutic tools based on what each person, moment, or season calls for. You may encounter existential therapy, somatic experiencing, inner-parts work, mindfulness, creativity, and other practices designed to support your individual needs and natural flow.

Outside of therapy, you might find me curating a playlist, reading or writing poetry, crafting, riding my Peloton, playing basketball, sitting beside any body of water, or cackling with my friends and family.
