Psychotherapist at Salix Psychotherapy Collective
Therapy offers time and space to explore what hurts, what matters, and what you may be ready to change — all within a relationship grounded in safety, care, and respect.
I am a psychotherapist and art therapist with 18 years of clinical experience, supporting clients through trauma, loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and the emotional demands of living in a complex world.
Together, we can slow down, reflect, and come to better understand your experience — at whatever pace feels right for you. I work with adults of all ages, offering talk therapy, art therapy, or an integration of both, depending on your needs, preferences, and goals.
My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, grounded in relational, psychodynamic, and depth-oriented work. My intention is to create a space where you feel safe to explore, take emotional risks, and express your authentic self. I believe each person carries an innate capacity for growth and healing and that therapy can help create the conditions for that capacity to emerge more fully.
I’ve had the privilege of spending many years working with older adults who have shared with me what it means to live a good life. They have taught me the importance of being present, staying connected to what matters most, and living with intention. I utilize these lessons in my work with clients, supporting meaningful change that aligns with their core values.
I bring curiosity, respect, and compassion to our work together. Whether you’re seeking healing, reflection, creative expression, or support through a difficult chapter, I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
What Is Art Therapy?
Art therapy is a mental health practice that integrates art-making, the creative process, and psychotherapy to support healing, self-understanding, and personal growth.
Healing is often creative. Art therapy can help you access feelings, insights, and experiences that are difficult to put into words. Through image-making and reflection, it can offer new perspectives, clarify values, reveal strengths, and support you in making meaning of your life.
Art therapy engages the mind, body, and heart. It can be especially helpful when you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward, supporting greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and a deeper connection to your own inner wisdom. It’s particularly beneficial for people navigating crisis, transition, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges.
Do I Have to Be an Artist?
No art experience is needed! Most art therapy clients have little to no background in
art-making. I’ll guide you in using materials and support you throughout the creative process.
Art therapy isn’t about making “good” art. It’s about creating space for expression, curiosity, healing, and discovery.
